Super 8 Film

Leavenworth, Washington

When speaking with Liz and Quincy, I realized pretty quickly that I was going to ADORE shooting their wedding. Liz sent me a playlist of some of her favorite music and it included bands like the Eagles and Ledd Zeppelin and I knew I was in for a treat. They also were sure to tell me they wanted a whimsical feel, and that they were open to being posed! That's about as good as a wedding can get for me.

Upon meeting them on their wedding day I could feel how genuinely they approached the world and how deeply they loved each other. Their friendships felt strong and intimate, their family was kind and gentle. It was a magical type of love to witness. I could tell they valued longevity and art, so I wanted to create a film for them that felt like it would be an heirloom one day. Something from a vintage store. Something their grandkids would dust off and pop into their computer and melt into a puddle watching.

We chose Super 8 mm film because it had those qualities. The film brought the retro feel, and they brought the art and intimacy. We were out at the Brown Family Homestead in Leavenworth Washington, where we were granted the most gorgeous sunny day. I had a blast running around with Summer Grace, their photographer, and creating beautiful imagery for this once-in-a-lifetime couple.
